Kozo SHIBATAKA ’Carnival’

Kozo SHIBATAKA ’Carnival’[ Sea Pomegratate>>

Kozo SHIBATAKA is a copperplate printing artist who has been working globally since his
participation in Art Now ’82 (Hyogo Municipal Museum of Modern Art). His lines are called “innocent lines”, produced by very skilled art of printing, and they conceive such tension any surplus omitted, with the infinite rhythm. He also tackles the experimental works, which are the production of the deliberately erred process of printing. Among his recent works are so called “book arts”, which are created on a theme of book, and installation with them.
Our show is going to focus on the installation using the whole space of the gallery, with his book arts as well as works from the early days such as in Art Now ’82. It is our pleasure if you enjoy the world of SHIBATAKA, with expression more diverse than that of printing.
