Gallery Yamaki Fine Art is delighted to present the works of Kazuyo KINOSHITA (1939-1994), an artist who left a significant mark on Japanese postwar art through her photographs and paintings. The late 1960s when KINOSHITA started her career, was a time when many avant-garde, sometimes anti-art, movements; including the Gutai Art AssociationHigh Red CenterNeo-Dada and Mono-ha (The School of Things) flourished. KINOSHITA’s trajectory reflects the enthusiasm of such era. While shifting between various media, Kinoshita consistently pursued “the visual, perception, and existence, and the gaps that emerge between them.”
For this exhibition, we will present KINOSHITA’s early important conceptual ‘70s photographs, together with her large scale paintings related to physicality from the ’80s to ‘90s at Art Basel Hong Kong / INSIGHTS Sector (Level 3 3D41).
This is a rare opportunity to view her works diachronically and we hope to see you at our booth.
