Gallery Yamaki Fine Art is delighted to present the works of Kazuyo KINOSHITA (1939-1994), who made a striking impression on postwar Japanese art. Her reputation has recently continued to grow worldwide. Throughout her career, KINOSHITA had consistently questioned the concept of “vision, understanding, existence, and the divergence between them”. She also aspired both modernity and primitiveness in her works; Modernity, which pursues autonomy of art, and primitiveness, which depends on the bodily expression of brush strokes. This is a rare opportunity to view her works diachronically. We hope to see you at our booth.
