Le Gac uses drawing, photography, and painting to create new images inspired by popular novels and illustrations, mixing fiction and confession, painting and literature, story and image, and to explore the role of painters and painting in society with his characteristic ridicule (ironic questions). The artist also pursues humorous questions.
This exhibition presents works inspired by the descriptions and illustrations of the adventure novels that he read with great enthusiasm as a boy, as well as works that express an in-depth narrative accompanied by photographs.
Le Mans has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale and Documenta, and has had solo exhibitions at various museums and galleries around the world. Gac. This will be the first solo exhibition in Japan.
