Lee Min-ho (1959-) is a Korean artist who has gained popularity these days in Korea with her unique photograph that cut out modern societies from an anonymous point of view. In her Uncertain ID Photo series, she takes pictures of mainly the trunk of human body (from lower half of face to mid-thighs) and sheds light on the reality of network era in which communication is achieved not by face to face but by densely structured anonymity. Her recent Portable Landscape series features the combination of photography and installation. The artist prepares a suitcase, the lid of which installed a photo of human figures with the background of urban sites, and the other half of the suitcase contains green lawn. Then she put it in various spots to take a photo of the site with suitcase in it. Thus, images in the suitcase are taken away from their origins and lose their particularity and end up to form a new narrative or meaning wherever they were taken to. They have traveled to so many places and transformed so much that have lost their origins, very like humans today, who seem to have lost their identities and wander around longing for their homes.
