Born in 1983 in Sasebo, Nagasaki.
Ueno graduated from Tama Art University in 2002, where she studied film-based visual expression (mainly documentary film). In 2015, Ueno began taking nude photographs on black-and-white film after meeting people with severe mental and physical disabilities at the gallery “galerie Miru Soko” in Nishinari, Osaka, during the production for an exhibition. Currently residing in Kyoto, she continues to produce black-and-white film photographs while working freelance as a photographer for promotional materials, commemorative photographs, and other projects.
