Gallery Yamaki Fine Art is pleased to announce itu’’s first solo exhibition at the art gallery to mark the 10-year anniversary of his career as an artist. This exhibition examines the true face of itu’, a unique artist who has been developing his original philosophy that unfolds his unique worldview in which, when he is absorbed in his practice, he feels as if he is immersed in another world and awakened to his new powers.
itu’＜itu＞ is an artist working on a global scale, based in Paris, France, and Sapporo, Japan. On impulse, itu’ ordered a pure white suit and decided to paint on it. He even went to Paris, wearing the painted suit. After receiving attention and compliments from many city passersby and major brand manufacturers, itu’ resolved to become an artist. In 2014, he set up his own studio and gallery store in the Marais district of Paris, where he launched his brand itu’ while starting his artistic career. itu’ currently has ateliers in Paris and Sapporo, and is active internationally. In December 2017, itu’ collaborated with Vans for sneakers, which was a huge success, selling out 100 pairs in five minutes at Miami Art Basel Week. In Japan, itu’ has created works for the Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo, and held collaborative events with Bang & Olufsen Japan, TRUNK (HOTEL), and Zentis Osaka.
